10 music technology trends next decade

Matt Rosoff's article "10 music-tech trends that will shape the next decade" reminds people of the power of technology on music-both production and consumption. It is fresh and makes you THINK though you may not agree with all the trends listed in the article. Here are the ten trends the author summarized: songs instead of albums; streams instead of downloads; in the cloud rather than on hard drives; fidelity rather than file size (quality over file size); production rather than consumption (In another 10 years, everybody will be a musician--or at least a recording artist?); suggestions rather than searches (personalized services become more important than search); spectacle rather than personality (entertaining over singing and playing); festivals rather than big concerts; and so on
