Google Apologizes to Chinese Authors for Book Scanning

Google has apologized to a Chinese authors' group over its scanning of books by local writers into google books. Google issued a statement and acknowledged that it had scanned books by Chinese writers and the company would no longer do so without local authors' permission. "Our communication with Chinese authors has not been good enough. Google is willing to apologize to Chinese authors for this behavior." Later on Monday a Google representative clarified that Google only apologized for its "poor communication" in dealing with Chinese authors, not for scanning books in China. And it has not stopped scanning books by Chinese authors. read the post by Tom Krazit
