A college Professor compares American students with ingternational students on their work ethic

An article "My lazy American Students" by Kara Miller on Boston Globe sparked readers' controversial reviews. 500 comments poured in so far. The readers debated intensively about if foreign students are more diligent than American students. Some agree and think this is a problem, while others don't and a few even took offense at being called "lazy". In addition to work ethic, other issues covered in readers' comments including time management and student engagement and so on. The discussion about creativity vs. knowledge is pretty interesting one. I agree with some readers: creativity is built on knowledge. no knowledge, no creativity. Some readers think foreign students are more diligent but American students are more creative. if this is generally true, what is the reason behind this phenomenon? Maybe the Different education systems played roles?
