How to be good reference librarians

You probably already read this long before since this article was published on Chronicle of Higher Education last year. It's new to me though. The article addressed four habits to be highly effective librarians-openness, responsiveness, collaboration and communication. Does this sound generic? actually there were some interesting insights in the article.
