China tightened its belts against free speech and information once again when they ordered Google to shut down certain search features on google.cn as an anti-pornography measure. Features affected include keyword suggestion and searching for information from foreign websites.
The trouble began when the China Internet Illegal Information Reporting Center, an Internet-watchdog group that is backed by the government, complained about lewd content on the site and threatened them with punishment by the government.
